Web 2.0

Web 2.0 was technically defined as “The business revolution in the computer industry caused by the move to the Internet as platform.” Web 2.0 is now more often used to describe a new generation of web-based services that allow people to interact, collaborate and share information. Probably the biggest advantage of web 2.0 versus traditional world wide web is greater collaboration amongst users, content providers, and enterprises. This is helped to be achieved by the use of blogging which in my opinion is becoming one of the most popular uses of the internet and is widely regarded as something fun, interesting and new to do online to many. Every day emerging blogging websites are attracting thousands and thousands of users helped by the developments in web 2.0. So one might ask how do we define a site to be web 2.0? Well some of the elements that do help define a site in web 2.0 are mash-ups, real-time data feeds, tagging, user generated content and resource sharing. I think that many see web 2.0 as a platform for interacting with websites and the net rather than just seeing what is on the page. Hence the design of each website is vital. It is important for the website to be well layed out and professional but at the same time user friendly. It is me, you and every other person who uses the website that will make the website successful or a failure. With the emergence of all the new website developed in web 2.0 only the strongest will survive.
